It's the perfect next step after puppy class. It's also a great fit for any dog 6 months and older who's ready to brush up on everyday skills.
Adolescence can bring surprises. This class helps you keep the momentum from puppy training going. We'll work on skills that make daily life easier, like loose-leash walking, coming when called, sits/downs/stays, focus activities and settling down. Everything is taught with positive, reward-based training that's fun for you and your dog.

How often are classes held?
Unlike our puppy class, Basic Manners runs as a set 6-week course with a fixed start date. We aim to offer it quarterly, with each session scheduled based on interest.
That means:
Classes are held about once a season
Each session runs 6 weeks with the same small group
Start dates are set once there’s enough interest
Seats are limited, so joining the interest list is the best way to get a spot

Classes are held in a private, fully fenced backyard training space in East Tallahassee. The exact address is shared with enrolled families after registration.

A maximum of 6 dogs are permitted in each class to allow for individual focus.

For everyone’s safety, dogs showing any signs of illness should stay home and rest. One makeup class can be scheduled. If you’re uncertain about symptoms, please contact the trainer ahead of time to determine whether it’s appropriate to attend.

If weather makes it unsafe or impractical to hold class, you’ll receive an email notifying you of any rescheduling.
